How to replace the grinding wheel of the grinder?

A grinder is a high-speed rotating machine that grinds a workpiece or tool while the disc rotates. Because it will wear out after a long time, the used grinding wheel will change from large to small until it can no longer be ground. Time to switch to a grinding wheel.

The structure of the desktop grinder is nothing more than a motor with shafts at both ends, plus two sets of grinding wheel protection plates. So the structure is simple. Use a spanner wrench and wire cutters to remove the screws from the protective plate.

After opening the protective plate, you can see the grinding wheel. At the center of the grinding wheel is the shaft of the grinder, on which there are screws and nuts. This is probably the tightening of the grinding wheel.

Generally, what we are facing is a grinding machine. One hand clamps the nut on the shaft with an adjustable wrench, and the other hand holds the grinding wheel. Generally, the grinding wheel is stuck, and when the wrench is pressed, the nut will loosen. Note that the fixing nut of the grinding wheel at the other end is a reverse screw. 

Loosen the nut, remove the wheel friction back plate, and remove the old wheel disc. Generally, the gap between the hole and the shaft of the grinding wheel is very small. If it is large, it means that the shaft is worn out, so it is concentric and the vibration of the grinding wheel is small.

When replacing a new wheel, install the wheel support plate before installing the axle nut. Install the wheel protection plate and the protection plate fixing screws and nuts.

The new wheel disc should be on and running. If there is a large runout, use a special tool to grind the grinding wheel so that the vibration of the grinder is as small as possible. This is the correct requirement and standard to replace the grinding wheel.
